Compensation: $85,000 - $105,000 / year

As a Proposal Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring Impulse produces high-quality proposals and other written materials for submission to competitive business opportunities. While writing proposals is a key element of the role, this role also involves interfacing with a wide range of teams across the company including Engineering, Finance, Legal, Mission Management, and Business Development. You will work alongside other members of the Business Development team to evaluate opportunities, formulate solutions, and communicate proposal strategies to the rest of the company.

This is a technical role that involves reading, understanding, and summarizing technical requirements documents as part of the proposal process.

• Act as a primary contributor to writing technical proposals and other externally facing documents used to pursue opportunities
• Maintain a clear technical understanding of the solutions Impulse has to offer
• Read, understand, and summarize the complex requirements of new customer opportunities
• Collect inputs from technical experts within the company to support writing efforts
• Help develop supporting graphics and materials for proposals
• Edit proposals for clarity, accuracy, and readability
• Ensure proposals are compliant with submission rules
• Help maintain repository of frequently used proposal information
• When possible, assist other teams with writing, editing, and communication needs

• Bachelor's degree
• 2+ years of experience in a similar role
• Proficiency with planning and managing schedules

• Ability to communicate technical material clearly and professionally
• Degree in a technical field or a degree in journalism, English, technical writing, or professional writing
• Experience with writing government proposals or grants
• Technical knowledge related to the Aerospace Industry
• Strong grasp of the English language, including nuance and tone
• Demonstrated ability to manage large writing projects
• Experience writing academic papers or technical white papers

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options

Impulse Space’s spacecraft manufacturing business is subject to U.S. export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). This position requires applicants to be either U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent U.S. resident (green card holder), an individual granted asylum in the U.S., or an individual admitted in U.S. refugee status) or persons eligible to obtain an export license from the U.S. Departments of State, Commerce, or other applicable U.S. government agencies.
