Software Design Engineer in Test 3 – Redmond, WA. Contract position for six months with a strong chance for long-term extension. Talent Software Services is seeking a Software Design Engineer in Test for a contract position in Redmond, WA. Apply via Dice.

• Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures
• Test system modifications to prepare for implementation
• Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability
• Document software defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software developers
• Identify, analyse and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content
• Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
• Create or maintain databases of known test defects
• Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
• Purpose of the Team: to support Windows Storage and File Systems, maintaining and improving the testing infrastructure for storage components
• Contribute to debugging and fixing legacy tests, reducing test noise, identifying product vs. test bugs, and converting older tests into modern platforms
• Review test runs, triage issues and sort out product bugs and test bugs; open incidents for both and address test bugs to ensure good product quality signals; follow up with developers on high-impact product bugs, fix low-hanging bugs

• An associate's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or a related field
• 5-6 years of experience; proficient in C, C++, C# and scripting
• Experience in testing software
• Experience writing test documentation such as Test Plans, scripts and test results reports
• Ability to analyse/interpret test results and provide recommendations to improve testing
• Solid C/C++ debugging ability, Power Shell experience, and domain knowledge in storage systems (preferred but not required)
• C, C++, Power Shell; 3 years of experience
