SKILLED MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Position based out of Watervliet, Michigan
Responsibilities- Repair and maintain physical structures, under supervision, using hand and power tools.
- Paint structures, perform masonry work, and repair plumbing fixtures and woodwork.
- Make repairs to tools and equipment.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and fixtures including measuring, cutting, bonding, threading, assembling and installing electrical conduit.
- Move, install, and adjust fixtures, motors, and other electrical/mechanical equipment.
- Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
- Perform tests on electrical equipment for safety reliability and code compliance.
- Patch concrete and macadam surfaces.
- Assist supervisor and other maintenance technicians and perform other duties as assigned.
- Personal contacts are primarily with Blarney Castle employees related work or support units.
- Based out of the Eastern Upper Peninsula area; a company maintenance van will be provided for work purposes.
- Ability to repair and maintain electrical and mechanical systems and fixtures, including using hand and power tools.
- Willingness to perform physical work and lift/move objects, including objects exceeding 25 pounds.
- Willingness to work varied hours, including potential evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
While performing the duties of this job you may be exposed to activities near moving mechanical parts, fumes, electrical power sources and outdoor weather conditions. The noise levels in the work environment are moderate to high. The starting time for this position is 7:00 A.M. with a normal 8 hour shift extending Monday through Friday. Due to the nature and travel requirements of this position, you may be subject to work hours in excess of a 40 hour work week.
There is a possibility of occasional emergency call-outs and scheduling outside normally scheduled hours including weekends.
While performing the duties of this job you will frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. An employee must frequently lift and/or move objects exceeding 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
