Washington Commercial Painters is seeking a results-driven Commercial Account Manager / Sales Representative to manage and grow commercial client accounts for our paint and coatings company. This role is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with commercial contractors, builders, property managers, and developers, while actively selling and promoting our diversified product portfolio, including paints, coatings, and related construction and finishing products.
The ideal candidate is comfortable in a fast-paced, outside sales environment, knowledgeable in commercial applications, and skilled at identifying opportunities to expand product usage across multiple categories.
Key Responsibilities Commercial Account Management- Manage and grow assigned commercial accounts across multiple product categories
- Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial clients, ensuring consistent communication and service
- Build long‑term relationships by understanding customer business models, job schedules, and purchasing needs
- Retain and grow accounts through proactive service, follow‑ups, and solution‑based selling
- Prospect and develop new commercial clients within assigned territory
- Conduct job‑site visits, customer meetings, and product demonstrations
- Identify upcoming commercial projects and position company products early in the bidding or planning process
- Promote the full line of diversified products to increase share of wallet per account
- Achieve or exceed assigned sales, revenue, and growth targets
- Sell and support a broad portfolio of products, including paints, coatings, Wallcovering, Painted Graphics, Window Film, Vinyl and more
- Recommend complete systems and bundled solutions based on project requirements
- Educate customers on new products, performance benefits, and application best practices
- Stay current on product innovations, specifications, and competitor offerings
- Coordinate with operations, production, and customer service to ensure accurate ordering and timely delivery
- Track account activity, opportunities, and sales performance using CRM tools
- Provide sales forecasts, market insights, and customer feedback to management
- Experience in commercial sales or account management, preferably within paint, coatings, construction materials, or related industries
- Strong understanding of commercial construction environments and jobsite operations
- Proven ability to sell multiple product lines and develop long‑term customer relationships
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Self‑motivated with the ability to manage a territory independently
- Proficiency with CRM systems and basic business software
- Experience selling to commercial painting contractors, general contractors, and property management companies
- Knowledge of commercial paint systems, coatings, and associated products
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
