As a CNC Machinist you would set up, operate, and make tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled, and computerized machine shop equipment.

Day

Shift: Monday - Friday, 6a.m - 2:30p.m.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Read and interpret engineering drawings, production routings, layouts, and set-up sheets.

* Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensional conformance of parts.

* Set-up and operate various classes of production CNC machines including; lathes, vertical mills, and horizontal mills.

* MUST be able to write simple to complex CNC programs at the machine and make tool offsets and adjustments as needed.

* Operate manual machine tools as needed.

* Provide training and assistance to other employees in the CNC machine cell.

* Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts.

* Training on studying blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

* Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.

* Training on the following:
Set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

* Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.

* Possesses a mid-level working knowledge of other job functions within all of the Production areas.

* Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements :

* Education and/or

Experience:

High school diploma and at least 5 years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CNC Certificate or Associate's degree, preferred.

* Proficiency in CAM Programming (CAMWorks, Fusion 360, and/or Mastercam.

* Strong knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, holding fixtures and tool holders.

* Experience with the download and start-up of CNC programs.
