Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Product Engineer
Meta’s Hardware engineers are at the forefront of innovation, driving the design and development of hardware systems that power the future of human connection. Across Infrastructure, Reality Labs, Robotics, and Research, our teams tackle complex challenges in consumer electronics, data centers, advanced robotics, opto‑mechanical systems, and more. We bring together cross‑disciplinary minds to invent, prototype, and deliver products and platforms that connect billions of people worldwide.
As an Engineer at Meta, you will play a pivotal role in the specification, design, prototyping, and deployment of cutting‑edge hardware systems. You will collaborate with world‑class teams across engineering disciplines—including electrical, optical, firmware, software, and industrial design—to deliver innovative solutions for wearable devices, robotics, infrastructure, and research initiatives. Your work could span the full product lifecycle, from concept inception and feasibility studies to mass production and deployment.
Engineer Responsibilities
- Mechanical Design:
Independently manage and deliver medium‑complexity mechanical assemblies or subsystems, driving technical solutions from concept to production. - Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Work closely with internal and external partners, including supply chain, manufacturing, and cross‑disciplinary engineering teams. - Prototyping & Testing:
Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems. - Conduct feasibility studies and failure analysis.
- Product Development Cycle:
Drive projects from early concept through prototyping, validation, and mass production, supporting manufacturing partners worldwide. - Technical Leadership:
Provide technical direction, mentor junior engineers, and influence program strategy and execution. - Innovation:
Push state‑of‑the‑art technologies and approaches to solve complex mechanical problems in consumer electronics, robotics, infrastructure, and research. - Documentation & Communication:
Generate and manage technical documentation, specifications, and clear communication across teams and stakeholders. - Travel:
Support manufacturing and development activities with travel to external vendors and partners as needed.
