Mechanical Engineer IV

Duration: 12 Months Contract

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design, manufacture, and assemble prototypes of soft wearable electronic devices
• Apply sound engineering and design principles for manufacturing of injection molded components, soft electronic components, and Client sensor integrations in wearable electronics
• Communicate with vendors on DFM and Manufacturing of designs for prototype builds
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to rapidly prototype hardware solutions, iterate, and run experiments.

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
• 4+ years of experience in designing hardware prototypes, preferably in wearable consumer electronics, or a similar field
• Knowledge of the design process from concept to manufacturing
• Average or higher experience with CAD modeling [Siemens NX preferred]
• Physical prototyping experience
• Demonstrated experience with Design for injection molding, liquid silicone rubber, 3D printing
• Experience with FPC/PCB design

• Knowledge of sensors
• Experience developing wearable consumer electronics
• Experience designing with softgoods or textiles
• Hands‑on prototyping with molding and casting of elastomers or industrial processes such as Liquid Injection Molding
• Experience collaborating and communicating effectively on multi‑disciplinary teams
• Experience working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
