Process Engineer

• Highly self-motivated to take ownership of complex engineering problems and drive solutions
• Ability to manage work efforts with minimal supervision
• Own development of new assembly methods, fixtures, and machines
• Own qualification of assembly methods, fixtures, and machines
• Drive failure analysis and root cause determination of production defects
• Development of electro-mechanical LiDAR production from NPI to ramp at CM’s
• Review manufacturing drawings and processes to improve process capability, reduce cycle time, and identify improvement opportunities
• Ability to work as a member of a team and adapt to dynamic day to day changes
• Solve technical challenges on the manufacturing floor as needed
• Collaborate with management, engineering, quality, and other staff regarding continuous improvement goals and objectives

Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Significant manufacturing experience related to opto-mechanical assemblies.
• Passive and active optical component alignments
• Assembly automation
• New Product Introduction
• Experience resolving quality and yield issues through the use of statistical trend monitoring, design, process, equipment, GD&T, tolerance stack analysis, and DOE.
• Significant experience with failure analysis, root cause determination, and process improvement.
• Basic statistical data analysis techniques (DOE, SPC, GR&R, PFMEA, DFM).
• Problem solving methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone)
• Significant experience with 3D CAD for design review, Solidworks preferred

Required

Education and Experience:

• Minimum 7 years in a manufacturing engineering role with at least 3 years focused on opto-mechanical assemblies.

Travel:

• Frequent onsite support at factory or assembly equipment vendors is required – Europe, Asia, Mexico and Domestic USA are likely (up to 25% travel estimated).
