Summary: We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to lead yield improvement and root cause analysis. As the Manufacturing Engineer for a Line Replaceable Unit at, you will be directly responsible for failure root cause and analysis, production process development and improvement of a key module on our next generation spacecraft. You’ll be the leading technical voice for a team of manufacturing engineers working on the product, solving challenging technical problems associated with delivering an ultra-high-performing optical, electrical, and mechatronic module to space.
Keyresponsibilities
- Serve as a technical lead on failure analysis and non-conformance management.
- Drive yield improvement through process change.
- Support operations team directly by being a high solving power engineer, capable of bringing multiple diverging technical perspectives together in high pressure escalation moments such as quality containments.
Normal day
- 75% of time will be spent on-the production floor working with technician teams to solve all types of technical blockers, from test report reviews, defect material triage, ERP blockers, etc.
- 25% of time will be spent performing independent development work such as performing data analysis on disturbances, improving troubleshoot documentation, etc.
- Familiarity with Low Rate Manufacturing Environments & New Product Introduction
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices & principles
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis Techniques such as Fishbone, Fault Tree, DMAIC, etc.
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Experience with Optical System Design & Metrology
- Experience with Python Programming Language
- Experience with Fiber Optic Systems
- Experience with Statistical Analysis Software such as Minitab
