A leading global consumer technology company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer IV to support the design and development of next‑generation soft wearable electronic devices. This role is highly collaborative and hands‑on, focused on rapid prototyping, mechanical design for softgoods and molded components, and accelerating early‑stage hardware development.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team to conceptualize, design, manufacture, and assemble advanced prototypes integrating soft electronics, sensors, textiles, and molded components. A key focus of this position is balancing creativity with sound engineering principles—translating ideas into manufacturable, testable, and repeatable prototypes.

This engineer will collaborate with internal research teams and external suppliers, support DFM discussions, iterate quickly on prototypes, and contribute directly to experiments that inform future product concepts. Ideal candidates thrive in dynamic R&D environments, enjoy building physical hardware, and bring deep experience in mechanical design for consumer or wearable electronics.

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience
• 4+ years of hardware prototype design experience (wearables or consumer electronics preferred)
• Strong understanding of the full design lifecycle from concept to manufacturing
• Intermediate or higher proficiency with CAD modeling (Siemens NX preferred)
• Hands‑on physical prototyping experience
• Demonstrated experience with injection molding, liquid silicone rubber, and 3D printing
• Experience with FPC/PCB design

• Knowledge of sensors
• Experience designing with softgoods or textiles
• Experience with elastomer molding, casting, or Liquid Injection Molding
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, experimental R&D environment
