Key Job Responsibilities
  • Independently design and develop custom test fixturing for coupon‑level and large‑scale structural testing for a variety of environments from high level requirements.
  • Create detailed CAD models and drawings for prototype hardware, test articles, and hardware modifications to support R&D activities.
  • Collaborate with structural analysts and multidisciplinary teams (thermal, electrical, manufacturing, test) to translate requirements into mechanical design solutions.
  • Support test planning, execution, and data collection activities throughout the development cycle.
  • Interface with suppliers and vendors for component sourcing, fabrication specifications, and procurement support.
  • Iterate designs rapidly based on test results, analytical feedback, and evolving program requirements.
  • Produce complete design packages including detailed drawings, BOMs, and assembly documentation.
About the Team

The Structural Integrity and Analysis team is responsible for Structural Integrity of not only the spacecraft but all other commodities supporting the program, inside and outside of Mechanical Engineering group.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years CAD experience in complex mechanical / electro‑mechanical assemblies/ machines/ structures/ systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in NX (CAD) and Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management tools.
  • Experience in hands‑on support of prototype builds and test.
  • Manufacturing and test knowledge (Forming, Machining, Finishing, Tooling, Assembly, Testing).
  • Experience in R&D environment for space‑rated hardware and systems and understanding of space related requirements.

Base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
