Hearing, Speech & Deaf Center (HSDC) has served the Puget Sound area for over 80 years, providing accessible communication and education services for individuals and families affected by hearing or speech differences. With its main office in Seattle, HSDC serves 13 counties across Western Washington. The organization offers a wide range of services, including Language, Speech and Communication Therapy, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, Early Childhood Education programs, and Interpreting Services.

Many of these services are provided at free or reduced costs, ensuring high-quality care and communication access for those in need.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Redmond, WA, for a Substitute Lead Infant/Toddler Teacher. The primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety, well-being, and developmental progress of infants and toddlers by implementing student-centered lesson plans and engaging in hands-on teaching. The Substitute Lead Teacher will conduct activities that support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, including creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

This role requires collaboration with other educators and effective communication with parents and caregivers.

Qualifications

  • ASL Fluency required
  • Experience in Education, Lesson Planning, and Teaching to support child development and curriculum implementation
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and staff
  • A genuine passion for working with infants and toddlers, and the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment
  • Certification in Early Childhood Education and relevant experience with infant and toddler care is highly desirable
  • First Aid and CPR certification is preferred
