You will serve as a foundational member of a tight-knit, family-run team dedicated to high-production earthwork and utility installations. You will play a vital role in transforming project sites through precise grading and expert machinery operation.
HowYou Will Make an Impact
Operate a diverse fleet of Caterpillar heavy machinery, including excavators (mini to 300), bulldozers, and loaders, to execute complex site plans.
Execute precise grading and fine-grading tasks to ensure material placement meets strict engineering specifications.
Collaborate with Superintendents and Foremen to look ahead at project needs and exceed daily production goals.
Perform comprehensive daily equipment inspections to maintain machinery health and ensure a zero-incident work environment.
Interpret complex construction blueprints and site lasers to guide accurate trench excavations and pipe setting.
Maintain a clean and organized job site while adapting to varying soil conditions and weather environments.
Required Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum of 3 years of experience in earthwork and heavy equipment operation.
Proven proficiency in operating multiple types of machinery, specifically excavators, dozers, and skid steers.
Demonstrated experience in trench excavation, pipe setting, and material compaction.
Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license for travel to various regional jobsites.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to making safety the absolute top priority.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience4 or more years of experience in civil construction or utility sitework.
High School Diploma or GED.
Advanced proficiency in setting up and utilizing site lasers for grading accuracy.
Experience working on prevailing wage projects within the commercial sector.
Weekly pay cycle with prevailing wage opportunities.
