Assistant Superintendent - Commercial Construction

The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for assisting superiors in planning construction procedures, specifications, work schedules, and material needs. The Assistant Superintendent will supervise and coordinate activities of field craft workers on job sites and will be solely responsible for self-performed scopes of work and the associated profitability. This includes craft workers, material ordering and scheduling deliveries, monitoring costs, and maintaining scheduled activities.

• Assist superiors in planning construction procedures, specifications, work schedules, and material needs.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of field craft workers on job sites.
• Be solely responsible for self-performed scopes of work and the profitability of those scopes, including craft workers, material ordering and scheduling deliveries, monitoring costs, and maintaining scheduled activities.

• Experience in commercial construction.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, effective communications skills, and interpersonal skills.
• High level of technical competency across all scopes and thorough understanding of means and methods.
• Ability to manage the job site; coordinate work, obtain tools and materials, oversee project cleanup and ensure activities of various workers do not interfere with one another.
• Experience supervising various contractors and craft labor crews.
• Experience developing and maintaining a site logistics plan, coordinating with superiors to obtain Owner/Agency approvals.
• Knowledge of all craft functions with a broad, thorough understanding of the construction industry.
• Take initiative and provide leadership and direction; act as a mentor and teacher and display strong leadership qualities.
• Excellent communication; foster and maintain positive relationships with team members, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Be comfortable and proficient with technology.

Absher is a Federal Contractor. Salary offers are typically made between the entry and midpoint of the range and are based on factors such as experience, education, and internal equity. Pay Transparency: $120,000 USD - $140,000 USD.
