Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices, guiding customer-centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business.
  • Serve as the front-line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives for three tax offices. Prior tax preparation experience is not required.
  • Start a flexible part-time schedule in the fall to prepare for the busy tax season; transition to full-time January–April with evening and weekend hours as needed; role is in-person.
  • Lead and develop associates, conduct timely performance reviews, and address performance concerns in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders.
  • Travel between offices as required.
  • Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
Qualifications
  • People management experience, with the ability to grow and develop associates.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for growth plan execution and leading toward a growth culture.
  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience.
  • Successful completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
