Overview
RANGE REFLECTS SPAN OF PROFESSIONAL LADDER. Reporting to the Director of Medical/Surgical Services, the staff RN performs professional role functions in accordance with scope of practice and professional standards, including demonstrating the knowledge and ability to use and/or lead the scope of practice, professional standards and accreditation / regulatory standards, scope of practice for LVN and all other nursing personnel e.g. unlicensed assistive personnel.
The RN demonstrates the ability to assess their own professional role performance, current knowledge of theory and principles related to discipline specific practice, and the ability to use a population based approach to determine patient needs. This position is expected to float to Medical/Surgical, Spine & Joint Institute, Telemetry, ICU, Emergency, Observation, PACU, Surgery Prep, and the Transitional Care Unit.
Float differential is not applicable. Ability to meet all job & physical requirements as outlined in job description or as agreed through a work place accommodation.
The RN demonstrates professional role functions in accordance with scope of practice and professional standards, including using and/or leading the scope of practice, standards, and accreditation/regulatory requirements. The RN assesses professional performance, maintains current knowledge related to discipline-specific practice, and applies a population-based approach to patient needs. (

- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program required.
- 3 years of acute-care RN experience with minimum of 1 recent year in Emergency or ICU (within 4 years) required.
- Current CA State Licensure as a Registered Nurse required
- Current CPR American Heart Association certification required
- Current ACLS American Heart Association certification required
- Successful completion of an arrhythmia recognition course required
- Upon Hire successful passing of RCH basic arrhythmia recognition exam required
- Current PALS American Heart Association certification preferred upon hire, required within 2 month of hire.
- Current MAB or CPI (non-violent crisis protection/intervention) required within 1 month of hire.
- Current NIHSS certificate preferred upon hire, required within 1 month of hire.
