Overview
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Title:
Limited X-ray Technician. The goal is to provide the finest Orthopaedic care possible. This philosophy requires that all office staff and providers be sensitive and responsive to patients’ needs and preferences. This description defines the position to hire and retain staff who align with our service philosophy. The position requires availability for forty hours per week, with a flexible schedule to provide efficient service for the group;
the employee is expected to work no more than five days per week. The hours, pay scale, and benefits will be defined as agreed upon.
- Performs X-Ray on patients to diagnose problems.
- Follow doctor’s instructions carefully and comply with regulations related to protection from unnecessary radiation.
- Prepping patients (removing jewelry, etc.).
- Ionizing X-Rays to create images for medical diagnosis.
- Prepare patients for X-Ray, explain the process and properly position patients for the exam.
- Transport patients to and from the x-ray department and between exam rooms and lobby.
- Enter patient demographics into the DR VXvue imaging system.
- Send digital images from DR VXvue to Ram Soft PACS for viewing at workstations and archiving of digital images.
- Perform CD writing of images from Ram Soft onto CDs for patients to carry to other facilities.
- Order laser film and other supplies for the x-ray department and file room.
- Review patient encounters in EMR for all patients with computed radiology exams to ensure proper diagnostic dictation is in the encounter.
- Print daily x-ray logs for the billing department and keep on file in the x-ray department.
- Work at the Front Desk as a patient representative as necessary.
- Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
- Report to the appointed Supervisor; communicate progress, requests, concerns, problems, and expectations as needed.
- Interact with other office and clinical staff in a collegial, professional manner to support safety and a pleasant work environment at Arrowhead Orthopaedics.
- Interact with medical groups and Primary Care Physicians and their offices; communicate commitment to quality care and customer satisfaction. Report unresolved conflicts to the Supervisor.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Ability to type 40 words per minute.
- Computer and scanner proficiency; experience with software programs including Microsoft Outlook; EMR experience preferable.
- Telephone etiquette and professional communication skills.
- Must have at minimum California limited digital x-ray license.
- Sitting and walking with daily occasional stooping, reaching, and bending.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Hearing in normal range for telephone and personal communication.
- Manual dexterity to operate keyboards and other office equipment.
