Due to continued growth and expansion plans, the Directors are looking to strengthen the commercial team with an extroverted, commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who has experience within external works and civils and a strong eye for identifying opportunities.
This is a key strategic hire within a growing business. There is significant long-term growth potential, with progression and earning capacity directly linked to your ability to develop opportunities, strengthen commercial performance, and nurture your own pipeline of work.
Main Duties
* Manage, evaluate and prepare tenders for external works and landscaping projects
* Identify and pursue commercial opportunities to support business growth
* Produce accurate pricing, cost plans and detailed written submissions
* Manage variations, valuations, contract administration and commercial reporting
* Assess risk, monitor project performance and protect margin
* Support negotiation of contracts and supplier agreements
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
* Contribute strategically to business development and commercial expansion
Salary
* £60,000 per annum basic salary
* On-Target Earnings (OTE) up to £75,000
* Working hours typically 08:30 – 17:00 (with emphasis on productivity and outcomes)

Candidate Attributes and Experience
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civils, external works, groundworks or landscaping
* Strong background in tendering, pricing and commercial management
* Confident, proactive and commercially driven personality
* Ability to identify opportunities and contribute to business growth
* Strong understanding of contracts, variations and commercial risk
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Desirable:
* Experience working with local authorities or public sector frameworks
* Knowledge of playground, park or amenity space projects
* Familiarity with estimating and commercial management software
