Quality Engineer
3pm-11pm (Afternoon Shift) M-F
Onsite - Detroit Manufacturing Plant
-Redford, Michigan
2-year Contract with potential for FTE
Interviews:
One initial phone interview followed by an in-person interview at the plant if all goes well with the initial call.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates quality objectives with other departments
  • Drives continuous improvement by developing and implementing error and mistake proofing
  • Keeps management abreast of progress, developments and pending problems
  • Drive issues to closure through the various quality feedback loops
  • Analyzes assembly process data to look for trends or possible upcoming concerns.
  • Works with Advanced Quality Tools (i.e., PFMEAs) to ensure a quality assembly process
  • Keeps management abreast of progress, developments and pending problems
  • Analyzes SPC data and works with manufacturing engineering to make process improvements
  • Knowledge of GD&T and CMM operations
  • Facilitate others in the executions of Quality Improvement activities
  • To work in a plant environment, working hands-on with engine assembly
  • Working directly with operations team, collaborating with them throughout the night documenting progress and issues and working into next shift setting them up for success.
  • 20% meetings 80% on the floor with the team.
  • Collaborate with day shift to prepare for their afternoon shift and keep the ball rolling from what day shift has started.
Knowledge You Should Bring
  • Requires a bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Requires working knowledge and expanded professional experience in job field
  • Requires understanding of key business drivers
  • Experience with PFMEAs, Knowledge of GD&T and CMM operations
  • Experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Potentially consider candidates with a wealth of experience but no degree.
  • Product knowledge of transmissions, Axles, Engines
  • SPC/MSA/PFMEA experience.
  • Works independently within guidelines and policies to solve problems of moderate complexity
  • Provides in normal guidance to new team members
  • May lead projects or processes as required
  • Problem solving skills ability to lead meetings, deeply involved with Alex, ability to collaborate and manage various personalities.
  • Ability to produce campaigns and finding solutions for problems that arise throughout the day
