Internal Sales Executive – Freight Forwarding

Salary:
Up to £35,000

An established and growing freight forwarding business based in Worcestershire is looking to appoint an Internal Sales Executive to strengthen its commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven freight professional who enjoys building relationships, generating opportunities, and supporting external sales with proactive pipeline development.

The Role

As an Internal Sales Executive
, you will play a key role in driving revenue growth from within the business. Working closely with operations and external BDMs, you’ll focus on nurturing prospects, developing existing accounts, and identifying new commercial opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively contacting prospects to generate new business opportunities
  • Following up on leads, quotations and lapsed accounts
  • Supporting the external sales team with appointment setting and pipeline development
  • Preparing and issuing competitive freight quotations (road, sea & air where applicable)
  • Building strong relationships with customers to increase retention and spend
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and reporting on activity
  • Identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities

This is a commercially focused role with clear opportunity to grow within the business.

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience with in freight forwarding or logistics (essential)
  • Background in internal sales, freight pricing, or operations with commercial exposure
  • Confident communicator with strong telephone skills
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and develop long-term client relationships
  • Organised, proactive, and target-driven
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment

This role would suit someone currently in freight operations or pricing who wants to transition into a more commercially focused position, or an experienced internal sales professional looking for a stable and supportive environment.
