Housekeeping Supervisor

Thursday & Friday 13:00-21:00
- Ensure staff have sufficient stock in cupboards to fulfil daily roles.
- Ensure staff PDRs are completed and training is up to date.
- Complete return-to-work procedures for staff returning from sick leave.

Job ResponsibilitiesJob Purpose
To provide an efficient housekeeping service, ensuring that standards are maintained at all times and delivering a responsive service to meet the needs of service users.
Key Relationships
Matrons, Departmental Heads, Senior Nurses, Ward and Departmental staff, Infection Control, Estates and Supplies, patients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Key Activities
- Organise and plan work rosters for maximum staff efficiency.
- Accurately complete staff register and roster paperwork.
- Allocate keys and maintain key log sheets.
- Allocate supplies of cleaning chemicals and consumables.
- Respond to telephone and bleep requests promptly.
- Authorise annual leave ensuring minimal disruption.
- Carry out staff return-to-work interviews after sickness absence.
- Attend departmental meetings and provide training as needed.
- Provide mop and cloth washing service in line with procedures.
- Ensure staff comply with the uniform policy.
Complete weekly time sheets. - Cover areas of work during staffing shortages.
- Basic education.
- Basic IT skills.
- Knowledge of COSHH.
- Basic Health and Safety knowledge.
- Supervisory experience.
- Team working ability.
- Cleaning experience within a hospital or similar environment.
