Finance Assistant

Overview

We are looking for a well-organised, reliable and proactive individual with strong attention to detail and a sound understanding of basic finance processes. This role is central to the smooth running of the Trust's finance operations, supporting schools and the central team through the accurate processing of invoices, supplier reconciliations and maintenance of financial records.

• Processing purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner across Trust schools
• Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies
• Liaising with school and central colleagues to resolve routine finance queries
• Assisting with payment runs and maintaining supplier account details
• Raising purchase orders and ad hoc sales invoices
• Preparing routine journals, including corporate card and cashless payment journals
• Supporting year-end processes, including the review of outstanding purchase orders

Shires MAT has grown significantly over recent years and continues to develop its centralised finance function. This role offers the opportunity to work within a central finance team supporting multiple schools across the Trust.
