Are you an experienced and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity next term?
A welcoming and inclusive first school in Redditch is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work part‑time from February until July, supporting a Year 6 student with trauma and behavioural needs on a 1:1 basis.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role is working Monday, Tuesdays and Fridays 08:30 – 15:30, on a long‑term basis until the end of the academic year, providing consistent, patient, and tailored support to help them access learning and feel secure within the school environment.
Responsibilities- Providing 1:1 support for a child in Year 6, with trauma and behavioural needs.
- Supporting communication, engagement, and access to learning using appropriate strategies.
- Assisting with transitions and daily routines.
- Promoting a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment.
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and the SENCo.
- Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting children with autism.
- Experience supporting pupils with moderate behavioural needs.
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A proactive and reliable attitude.
- Competitive daily rate, from £88.92 to £100 per day.
- Holiday Pay – PAYE candidates accrue 12.07% of their day rate.
