Graduate SEN Academic Coach - B97, Redditch

Start Date: ASAP Start for the remainder of the 2025/26 academic year
Job Type: Full-time, Monday – Friday
Salary: £489 – £520 per week (term time only)

If you’re looking for meaningful classroom experience before progressing to teacher training, educational psychology, or SEN specialisms, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

We’re looking for a caring, committed graduate to join a supportive school in Redditch, working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The opportunity
  • Full-time role supporting SEN / SEMH pupils
  • One-to-one and small group work
  • Plan and deliver intervention sessions tailored to individual needs
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Play a key role in supporting students’ personal, social, and academic development
  • Gain invaluable experience ahead of teacher training or educational psychology studies
What we’re looking for
  • A degree (2:2 or above) — psychology, SEN, or related fields ideal, but all considered
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • An ability to motivate, engage, and build trust with students
  • A positive, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Any previous experience working with children or young people with SEND/SEMH (inside or outside of school) is beneficial, but not essential
Key responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of needs, in and out of the classroom
  • Lead structured intervention sessions and activities
  • Assist with planning and resourcing to support individual education plans
  • Work alongside professionals to contribute to EHCPs and assessments
  • Help ensure pupils feel safe, supported, and able to thrive at school
