SEN Teaching Assistant – One-to-One Support (Redditch)

Smart Education is delighted to be working with a welcoming primary school in Redditch, who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a pupil with additional needs.

The role involves supporting a pupil with a diagnosis of ASC who is currently awaiting further assessment for ADHD. The pupil is working at, or very close to, their age-related academic expectations, but displays strong ADHD traits and can become dysregulated y will benefit greatly from someone who can recognise early signs of dysregulation, implement supportive strategies, and help maintain a calm, positive learning environment.

The pupil also experiences sensory sensitivities, so the successful candidate must be confident in managing sensory needs and creating a safe, reassuring space when required.

💼 The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience supporting children with ASC, ADHD, or similar additional needs

Be patient, nurturing, and proactive

Understand sensory sensitivities and be able to respond appropriately

Use de-escalation and regulation strategies effectively

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO

Be reliable and committed to a long-term position
