Store Manager, Retail & Store Manager

Overview

Store Manager role at Hot Topic. We’re passionate about music, pop culture, and creating the most amazing in-store experience for our customers and employees. You’ll lead the store in achieving objectives related to sales targets, recruiting, development, and performance management.

• Ensure that your store achieves the sales plan and/or comp sales goals.
• Recruit, develop, and retain a collaborative and passionate team to run your store.
• Lead customer engagement through social media, store web applications, and clienteling to create buzz.
• Lead an operationally sound business with a balance of structure, delegation, autonomy, and customer-first selling practices.
• Monitor shrink, payroll hours, schedules, and external factors affecting the business.
• Collaborate with retail leadership and HQ partners on trends and customer feedback.
• Run sales reports and use data to guide strategies to hit sales targets.
• Adapt to new technologies, communicate policies and procedures, and manage supply ownership (spending only as needed).
• Merchandise the store in a compelling way using planograms as a guide and launch all promos on time.
• Mentor, recognize, and provide feedback to build a bench of talented staff.

• At least 1-2 years of retail store management experience; strong communication, recruiting, and operations skills (payroll, reporting, scheduling, merchandising).
• A high school diploma or GED; a degree is a plus.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-changing retail environment and handle curveballs.
• Open-minded and inquisitive regarding pop culture fandoms and music trends.
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using approved equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.

$23.50 - $29.40 an hour

Please note the pay range for this position starts as listed in the job posting, but final salary will be determined by factors including education, location, minimum requirements, training, and experience.
