The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. Directs and guides patient/family teaching and nursing personnel activities while maintaining professional nursing standards in Telemetry. Directly responsible and accountable for patient care in the Emergency Department. Communicates with physicians regarding patient condition changes, diagnostic results, and symptomology.
Responds quickly and accurately to changes and treatments. Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and the Hospital Social Worker. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS (AHA) certificate and/or ENPC within 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital, preferably E.R. setting.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
- EDAP certified facilities:
Completion of emergency pediatric courses 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire. - Non OB facilities: NRP (AHA) certificate within 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.
Shasta Regional Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package allowing employees to tailor benefits to individual needs. The Total Rewards package includes paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and other voluntary benefits. The current compensation range for this role is $41.62 to $68.40 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined at hiring and considers factors such as skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
