Major Duties- Serves as the Chief of the Electrical Maintenance Branch for the Northern California Area Office (NCAO) of the California Great Basin (CGB) Region, responsible for electrical and electronic maintenance of facilities including Shasta Dam, Powerplant, Switchyard, Keswick Dam, Trinity Dam, Lewiston Dam, Spring Creek, Carr, Whiskeytown, Buckhorn, and other related facilities. Manages, directs, and coordinates electrical/electronic maintenance, replacement, and repair for NCAO facilities.
Coordinates with water and power resource agencies, state and local agencies, and others to ensure informed status of NCAO water and power operations. Works with other area office division chiefs, Central Valley Operations office, regional area offices, and the Reclamation Technical Service Center on electronic and electrical issues. Implements Reclamation and CGB policies on facility electronic and electrical operations. Administers division budget and related fiscal duties, including requisitions and purchase card acquisitions.
Provides program direction for engineers and crafts. Serves on the Regional Power Management Team and represents NCAO at WAPA meetings. Establishes performance standards and evaluates subordinate supervisors. Provides advice and instruction to subordinate employees. Serves as selecting official for subordinate supervisory positions and approves selections of non‑supervisory employees. Ensures equal opportunity in training, promotions, and recognition opportunities. Ensures fair employment practices in recruitment and selection of candidates for subordinate vacant positions.
