Position OverviewA well-capitalized, operations-driven organization is seeking a Business Systems & AI Enablement Lead to sit at the intersection of business operations, process design, and applied AI/automation. This is a newly created role with a mandate to eliminate inefficient processes, reduce manual work, and scale effective systems across multiple operating entities.
This is not an IT role. It is a business solutions role designed for someone who deeply understands how finance, accounting, HR, payroll, procurement, and operations function in practice — and who can leverage AI, automation, and workflow design to materially improve how work gets done.
The role owns continuous improvement across business processes, with clear accountability for cycle-time reduction, data quality, and measurable efficiency gains.
Core Responsibilities Process Discovery & Redesign- Map and evaluate existing workflows across accounting, HR, payroll, procurement, and operations
- Identify waste, redundancy, manual handoffs, and organizational friction
- Redesign processes with a bias toward elimination over optimization
- Develop standardized, scalable procedures that work across multi-entity environments
- Serve as an internal authority on process quality and operational efficiency
- Identify, evaluate, and deploy AI tools, copilots, agents, and automation platforms
- Build AI-assisted workflows for high-frequency processes (close, reporting, onboarding, compliance, reconciliation)
- Create and maintain prompt libraries, templates, and automation scripts usable by non-technical staff
- Translate AI capabilities into practical, value-driving applications (not experimentation for its own sake)
- Work across ERP, HRIS, payroll, fleet, and project accounting systems to improve data flow and accuracy
- Design import/export pipelines and standardized data formats
- Own data quality initiatives, addressing root causes upstream and building validation guardrails
- Reduce rekeying, rework, and downstream errors
- Train and support process owners on new tools, workflows, and AI capabilities
- Drive adoption through demonstrated ROI and quick wins, not mandates
- Communicate directly with leadership on progress, blockers, and resource needs
- Define success metrics for each initiative (cycle time reduction, error rates, hours saved, cost per transaction)
- Report quarterly on delivered improvements and pipeline initiatives
- Target elimination or material improvement of at least one legacy process per quarter
