(Part‑time) Temporary, Clinical Teaching Assistant – Associate Degree Nursing
Position at Inside Higher Ed.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned clinical courses in the Associate Degree Nursing program, including in‑person, online, and hybrid modalities.
- Develop and deliver instruction consistent with official course outlines and district guidelines.
- Create and distribute a syllabus, communicate course objectives, grading, and other requirements.
- Provide regular, timely feedback to students, return graded work promptly, and assign final grades per district policy and the California Education Code.
- Maintain online course components and provide student‑student and student‑instructor contact for online and hybrid courses.
- Refer students to tutoring and related student services when appropriate; supervise students in off‑campus activities as required.
- Participate in professional development to remain current in the assigned discipline.
- Submit required administrative paperwork, including student learning outcomes.
- Associate degree with six years of professional experience or equivalent.
- Eligible for approval from the Board of Registered Nursing at the Clinical Teaching Assistant level.
- Meet clinical competency requirements and approval to supervise students in the assigned clinical settings.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic backgrounds of staff and students, including those with physical and/or learning disabilities.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the California community college mission.
Salary flat rate ranging from $59.19 to $84.20 per clock hour taught each semester in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
