Assistant/Associate Professor of Biology or Kinesiology
Join Simpson University as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Biology or Kinesiology starting August 15, 2026. The faculty member will teach in‑person courses that may include:
Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Global Health Issues, Applied Motor Development, Medical Terminology, Biomechanics, General Chemistry, and/or Introduction to General, Organic, and Biochemistry. A commitment to the integration of faith into teaching, scholarship, and service at a Christian liberal arts institution is an essential quality of Simpson University faculty.
- Doctoral degree in Biology, Kinesiology, or related discipline; M.S. degree considered
- Demonstrated ability to teach both lecture and laboratory coursework
- Evidence of teaching excellence utilizing a variety of teaching modalities
- Experience working with a diverse student population and a commitment to inclusion and equity
- A personal commitment to Christ and ability to integrate faith into teaching, scholarship, and service at a Christian liberal arts institution
- Promising research agenda that supports undergraduate education is desirable
- Personal relationship with Jesus, a vibrant Christian faith, and a commitment to Christian community; capable of sharing faith and engaging in conversations about Christ

- Support the overflow needs of other departments within the respective university area
- Perform other duties in accordance with this position as deemed necessary by the President
- Teach 12 units of undergraduate courses each fall and spring semester
- Prepare and teach undergraduate introductory and upper‑level biology and/or kinesiology courses
- Utilize Canvas for course management and delivery of content
- Advise and mentor undergraduate students in the biology and/or kinesiology major
- Provide department support for curriculum design, assessment for degree program, and student recruitment
- Serve on faculty committees
- Attend department meetings and professional development activities
- Ensure the timely completion of assessments, grades, and other reports
