The Opportunity
Wolviston Management Services are proud to be supporting our client in the search for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join their Engineering Department
Working within a highly mechanised and automated heavy industrial environment, this is a key role focused on maintaining asset reliability and supporting safe, efficient operations across the site.
Reporting into the Area Maintenance Engineer and working closely with the Area Team Leader, you will carry out a wide range of mechanical maintenance activities, responding effectively to both planned and reactive work.
 
What You'll Be Doing
 
Carrying out mechanical maintenance activities to support asset reliability and plant performance
Responding to breakdowns and emergent work to minimise downtime
Completing preventative maintenance and inspection activities in line with site schedules
Operating in strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Identifying hazards and implementing safe systems of work relevant to your area and tasks
Working effectively within a team environment, whilst also demonstrating the ability to work independently
Collaborating closely with Manufacturing and Shift Engineering teams to deliver the Maintenance Strategy  What We're Looking For
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Mechanical Technician with a strong background in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments.
You will ideally have:
 
Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship
Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC/HNC, or NVQ (certificate evidence required)
Proven experience in preventative maintenance, inspection work, and breakdown recovery
Strong practical skills in heavy industrial mechanical activities
Experience using modern maintenance techniques and computer-based maintenance systems (e.g. SAP)
A positive, flexible attitude with a willingness to undertake further training
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, alongside strong timekeeping  What's On Offer
