Mental Health Practitioner-Home and Community Focused
Mental Health Practitioners provide skills-based mental health services to children, adults, and families experiencing mental health concerns. Working under the supervision of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), MHPs help clients build practical skills that strengthen daily functioning and overall well‑being.
What You’ll Do- Provide skills-based mental health services to children, adults, and families (individual, family, and group modalities)
- Use effective, culturally responsive strategies to meet client needs
- Meet productivity and documentation standards
- Collaborate with Fernbrook staff and community partners
- Seek supervision and consultation as needed
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development
- Uphold Fernbrook’s mission, values, and agency policies
- Meets Minnesota Statute requirements for Mental Health Practitioner
- Strong ethical judgment and professional boundaries
- Ability to manage time, schedules, and deadlines independently
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Openness to feedback and commitment to learning and growth
- Basic computer proficiency or willingness to learn
- Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check
- Supportive, inclusive workplace that values lived experience
- Flexible scheduling (generally between 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
- Collaborative, team‑based environment
- Opportunities to work with children, adults, and families
- Bilingual and multilingual candidates encouraged to apply
- Salaried: 40–43 hours/week | Hourly: up to 40 hours/week
- Regular travel to client homes, community settings, and Fernbrook offices
