Deputy Surveyor

Position: DEPUTY SURVEYOR
Goodhue County is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Deputy Surveyor. The primary objective of this position is to assist in the supervision of the perpetuation of the Public Land Survey System for the County. This role will involve the supervision, organization, and implementation of the use of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) for the countywide survey control point network, as well as the collection of PLS corners and vertical and horizontal control for highway projects.

In addition to overseeing survey operations, the Deputy County Surveyor will also assume the responsibilities and duties of the County Surveyor when assigned. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid background in surveying, and experience with GPS technologies.

Types of work:

• Preforms land surveying functions as a Licensed Land Surveyor which involves field work, research, mathematical analysis, writing land descriptions, etc.
• Assists the County Surveyor with office management
• Manages the implementation of the Global Positing System (GPS) for us in collecting or staking out survey information

Minimum Qualifications

• a Minnesota Licensed Land Surveyor and two years of experience as a Licensed Land Surveyor.

Compensation & Benefits

County employees receive competitive pay and a generous benefit offering. The Deputy Surveyor is compensated at salary grade 116 ($87,609-$135,782) and staring annual compensation is $87,609 - $91,998, depending upon qualifications.
