Overview

The City of Red Wing is seeking a friendly and reliable Part-Time, Seasonal Front Desk Clerk to support daily office operations and assist with special projects in the Community Development Department. This position is front-facing and serves as the primary point of contact for customers during assigned work hours.

This role provides essential coverage during lunch hours and assists with maintaining consistent service when staff are out of the office. The position also supports the department during ongoing software implementations and operational transitions.

Hours per week: 20-30, depending on the needs of the department.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for walk-in customers and phone inquiries
  • Answer and route phone calls professionally and courteously
  • Perform cash receipting
  • Assist customers with general questions and direct them to the appropriate staff
  • Scan and organize documents
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support
  • Assist with special projects as assigned, including support during software implementation and data migration efforts

Note:

Building permit–related tasks such as scheduling, data entry, and walk-in permit assistance will continue to be handled by Building staff.

Employees who work at least 300 hours in a season may receive up to a $100.00 performance bonus for satisfactory work; working at least 350 hours in a season may receive up to a $150 bonus, and those working at least 400 hours in a season may receive up to a $200 bonus.
