IRATA Rope Access CWB Certified Welder JP

Tacten is seeking IRATA certified Journeyperson Welders with CWB certification to support the Nova Chemicals Spring 2026 Outage. This role supports non-pressure welding scope only, including structural steel, supports, brackets, and repair work not governed by ABSA pressure regulations. In this role, you’ll be a vital part of a high-performing team, completing complex work at height with precision, efficiency, and an unwavering commitment to safety.

• Tentative End Date June 19, 2026
• Rotation 6 days on / 1 day off
• Shift Length 12 hours
• LOA $165/day
• Perform non-pressure welding activities in support of maintenance and turnaround scopes.
• Weld structural steel components, including brackets, braces, supports, and frames.
• Execute welds using SMAW process in accordance with CWB standards and site procedures.
• Perform welding in multiple positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).
• Interpret drawings, isometrics, and work packages related to structural scope.
• Collaborate with pipe fitters, ironworkers, and maintenance teams as required.
• Maintain compliance with Nova safety, quality, and permit-to-work systems.
• Journeyperson Welder certification
• IRATA Level 1 or willingness to obtain
• Valid CWB SMAW ticket (All Position)
• F4 filler metal (Carbon Steel)
• Experience in industrial maintenance or turnaround environments
• Strong attention to weld quality and safety standards
