Position Summary
Maintenance Technician / Renovator is responsible for all building maintenance and renovation-related duties within their assigned location(s) within a residential multi-family setting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
General handyman duties- minor plumbing, electrical repairs and maintenance.Carpentry and handyman work including drywall and framingInstallation of light fixturesDrywall patchingBuild stairs, decks, balconies and other itemsGrouting of bath tilePainting as requiredMoving appliancesRepairing appliancesRemoval and installation of flooring (laminate, lino and carpet)Removal of old furnishings and preparation for renovationsMinor plumbing repairsFix plugged drains, leaky tapsInstall valves, tapsRenovations on bathrooms – replace valves, install tubs, new taps and shower headReplace zone valvesAssist in larger plumbing repairsReplace burst pipes, solderingGeneral boiler maintenance and HVAC knowledgeGeneral repairs if necessary to boilers, pump, etc.Thorough knowledge of boiler systemsConduct weekly inspections of all boilers and complete logMust perform regular on-call duties as assignedEmergency on-calls as assignedOther duties as assigned by the regional managerInspection and maintenance of boilers, HVAC etc.General carpentry, installation of blinds, fixing doors, locks, cabinets etc., drywall, tiling and paintingBe available for on- call on a rotating schedule to deal with problems that occur after hours and/or weekendsManage tenants' maintenance requests including proper follow up to ensure satisfaction and completionComplete maintenance checklist for unoccupied suitesQualifications and Requirements
Possess at least 2 years of building renovation work experienceExperience in minor plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, drywallSoldering, troubleshoot of appliances, repair worksFlexible to work regular work hours and on-call duties/weekends/ after hour emergencies on rotation basis scheduleMust possess a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle to use at work.Must successfully complete a security clearance
