Heavy Equipment Technician Job Description:

The successful applicant will:

• Perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of truck and trailer combinations.

• Diagnosing electrical, hydraulic and mechanical troubles

• Perform preventative, planned and unplanned maintenance, repair, overhaul, trouble shoot and test mechanical and electronic equipment according to company standards

• Complete maintenance records and documentations as required

• Work in a shop setting when not in the field

• Participate as a vital team member, and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve participation in other areas of technical and field support, as required

• Perform duties in a safe, timely and cost efficient manner

• Other duties as required

The successful applicant MUST HAVE

• Alberta HET (Heavy Equipment Technician) certification or minimum 4th year apprentice or out of province HET certification with Interprovincial Red Seal

• Your own tools

• Basic welding knowledge and skills (welding certification is an asset)

• Minimum Class 5 license with clean abstract (valid Class 1 License is an asset)

• Licensed CVIP certification or willing to apply

• Strong attention to detail

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to multitask and shift priorities as required

• Requires a flexible work schedule including overtime and weekend work during the construction season (May November)

• Great communication and interpersonal skills

• Be in good physical shape in order to work in physically demanding conditions
