Position Overview

Red Deer Crime Stoppers is seeking dedicated and community‑minded individuals to join its Board of Directors. As a board member, you will help guide the strategic direction, governance, and long‑term sustainability of the organization. This is an opportunity to contribute your leadership, expertise, and passion for community safety to a respected local organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to support Red Deer Crime Stoppers’ mission.
  • Oversee financial stewardship, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Participate in board meetings, committee work, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Crime Stoppers within the Red Deer community.
  • Monitor organizational performance and community impact.
  • Collaborate with fellow board members, volunteers, law enforcement partners, and stakeholders.
  • Uphold ethical standards and ensure compliance with relevant laws, policies, and governance practices.
Qualifications
  • Experience serving on a governance board or in a leadership role (asset, not required).
  • Commitment to community safety, crime prevention, and civic engagement.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
  • Strategic thinking and sound decision‑making abilities.
  • Understanding of non‑profit governance principles.
  • Familiarity with the Red Deer region and its community priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Time Commitment

Board meetings typically occur monthly, with additional committee or project work as needed. Estimated 5–10 hours per month, including meeting preparation and community engagement.
