The Resort Maintenance person works in a customer service-oriented environment, responding to internal and guest maintenance requests. They also perform preventative maintenance and repair work in public areas and guest rooms.
Specific Responsibilities- Performs minor and routine painting, repairs and other related maintenance activities.
- Respond to internal maintenance requests in a timely manner, fulfills work orders when issues cannot be resolved.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on resort equipment and systems.
- Maintain safety of walkways and pathways around the resort, such as snow clearing, ice melt and sweeping debris.
- Ensures that all equipment and work areas are kept clean, neat and in working order.
- Works with the housekeeping team to ensure each guest room is in proper working order includes, but is not limited to, paint, wallpaper, plumbing, electrical, lighting, furniture, carpet, thermostat, fan coils, door latches, smoke detectors, water pressure, drains etc.
- Maintains records of preventative maintenance completed on each room and public area
- Monitor, test, and adjust pool and spa water chemistry, including chlorine, pH, and other chemical parameters to ensure safe, sanitary, and comfortable swimming conditions.
- Maintain accurate chemical logs and operational records in compliance with local and provincial health regulations.
- Performs other related duties and assists other team members as requested.
- Experience and knowledge of general maintenance
- Experience operating hand and small power tools an asset
- Customer Service experience an asset
- Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying reasons, or facts.
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work in a variety of environments, inside, and outside.
- Must be able to stand and walk during shift, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Post-secondary education an asset
- Current Pool Operator Certificate an asset.
- Current Certification in Advanced Aquatic & Technical Training an asset.
