The Nugget is NAIT’s student media source, and we’re looking for a Video Editor who is passionate about digital storytelling and video production. At the Nugget, you’ll get the chance to create videos that tell unique stories, lead Nugget contributors in the creation of their own videos and make a name for the Nugget’s video section.

Reporting to the Editor-in-Chief, responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

• Pitch, plan and create at least one video project a week for Tik Tok and You Tube
• Write scripts, reach out to interview subjects, talk to students for video projects
• Film & edit video projects for Instagram, Tik Tok, and You Tube
• Work with Digital Content creator and social media coordinator to collaborate on projects, visuals and timelines
• Go on scene to cover breaking news, campus events, student interactions

• You're a video wizard. You will be the lead videographer at the Nugget, so experience with photography and video equipment and editing software is important. We have a brand style, but you'll be given lots of room within those parameters to make things your own.
• You like working with others. Collaboration will be important in this role. You will support the other team members, as well as leading your own section, so you need to be comfortable leading projects, making decisions, listening to others, and executing ideas.
• You have lots of ideas and the drive to make them reality. Our video section is always expanding, and there's a ton of room at the Nugget to be creative and try new things. We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to step out of the box and suggest something different.

• Salary:
  Starting at $500 per month

  Flexible hours with some requirements for mandatory meetings
• Employment Term:
  August 1, 2026 to April 15, 2027

• Must be a current NAIT student enrolled for the full 2026/27 academic year, until at least April 2027
• Must be available for training during the first week of August; flexible work schedule for the rest of August

• Knowledge in video editing software
• Reliable and dependable to meet deadlines
• Comfortable interacting with a diverse group of people
