We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Orthopedic Physician to provide 24/7 coverage of the Emergency Department and inpatient consultations at a small rural community hospital. This role requires active clinical experience candidates must be currently practicing at a facility, not immediately out of residency.

Level III Trauma Center
EMR:
CernerSupport Staff: OR and inpatient support
Dates: Feb (ending AM of Feb 16)
Coverage: 24/7 ED and inpatient consultations
FTE: 1
Patient Load: Full general orthopedic coverage; higher-level patients transferred to larger regional hospital
Full general orthopedic care
Inpatient and ED consults
Ability to manage trauma patients and collaborate with regional referral centers
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedics
Active California medical license
Completion of ACGME or AOA-approved residency
DEA license (required during credentialing)
CA Fluoroscopy Certificate (required by coverage dates)
Clean malpractice history preferred
Self-Query NPDB (within 30 days) required at presentation
Must have active clinical practice; no candidates right out of residency without experience
Lodging
Local travel preferred:
Fly into Sacramento and drive 2 hours north to Red BluffNo flights into smaller regional airports
Locum privileges require 30 days, potentially faster depending on provider responsiveness
Must complete credentialing application promptly
