HGV Technician

Job Title: HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter

Salary: £23ph

Shift: Covering a rotating shift - Monday to Friday, 0600hrs to 1430hrs / 1430hrs to 2300hrs

Type: Permanent

Location: Reading

• Diagnose vehicles using diagnostic tools and choose appropriate repair techniques.
• Work independently to maintain and repair vehicles and components.
• Carry out a range of inspections (MOT, tacho, etc.).
• Provide support and daily mentoring for less experienced technicians.
• Carry out final checks on completed work.

• Time‑served HGV Technician or equivalent qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 preferred).
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills.
• Extensive experience in repairing and maintaining trucks, components and associated vehicles.
• Familiarity with developments in the automotive industry.
• Valid driving licence.
