Location: Reading
Hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern
Pay: £14.58 hourly rate
Supervisor to work for one of a prestigious site based in Reading. You will be responsible for maintaining the security requirements of the client whilst upholding a strong corporate image and high standards of professionalism, following directions from the Regional Operations Manager.
The Security Supervisor is a key leadership role. You will lead a team of Security Officers, oversee day‑to‑day security operations, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, promote staff wellbeing, and drive a culture of professionalism, vigilance and excellent visitor service.
Responsibilities- Lead, motivate, and support a team of Security Officers.
- Support the workforce planning team to ensure all duties, core and ad‑hoc, are adequately staffed.
- Monitor officer performance, conduct appraisals and provide regular feedback.
- Drive the highest standards of presentation and behaviour through floor‑based officer engagement.
- Oversee daily security operations including access control, patrols, incident reporting and emergency response.
- Investigate and report incidents in line with the Site and WJ policies and legal requirements.
- Liaise with external agencies (police, fire brigade, contractors) as required.

- Proven supervisory or management experience in a security, facilities or public‑facing environment.
- Strong leadership and people‑management skills with the ability to motivate teams.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation, security operations and emergency procedures.
- Excellent communication, decision‑making and conflict‑resolution skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and reliability.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Front‑line SIA licence.
- Willingness to travel to and from Reading during unsociable hours.
- Experience working within a cultural, heritage or public venue environment.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Customer Service experience.
- Knowledge of scheduling staff through a workforce management system.
