Security Architect

Job Title:

Security Architect – Joint Design Team (JDT)

Contract: 6 months initial (extension up to 9 months likely)

Start: ASAP (subject to BPSS clearance)

Engagement: PAYE / Inside IR35 only

Location: Secure site, South of Reading – 5 days onsite (full-time)

Security Clearance:
HLC – active & transferable

An experienced Security Architect is required to join a Joint Design Team (JDT), reporting to the Design Team Security Lead
. The role focuses on assuring that Managed Service Provider (MSP) designs, implementations, and security controls meet required security standards within a highly regulated and secure environment.

You will be responsible for reviewing designs, assessing security compliance, managing risk, and providing expert security guidance. The role also includes administration of the STREAM risk management tool
.

• Review high-level and low-level solution designs
• Assess MSP security compliance testing and assurance outputs
• Review security cases, risks, and design decisions
• Conduct formal security assessments
• Administer and maintain Risk Management Software (STREAM)
• Provide authoritative security advice and guidance to stakeholders

Candidates must hold active and transferable Security Vetting (NSV) clearance that meets all of the following:

• Clearance:
• Maximum 10 yrs (or 7 years for DV
  )
• Minimum 12 months remaining before expiry (
  18 months preferred
  )
• Must have:
• Taken up post within 6 months of clearance being granted
• Worked in an NSV-cleared role for a government department, Police Force, or government contract within the last 12 months
• Not resided overseas for more than 6 months during any break between government contracts

• Must hold only a UK/British passport
• No dual nationality permitted

• OCI cards
• NICOP or any other identity cards
• Candidates not born in the UK must:
• Hold the required clearance level
• Have formally renounced previous citizen ships

• Proven experience as a Security Architect in secure or regulated environments
• Strong knowledge of security assurance, compliance, and risk management
• Experience reviewing MSP designs and security solutions
• Familiarity with risk management tools
  , ideally STREAM
• Strong stakeholder engagement and advisory capability
• Comfortable working fully onsite in a secure environment

• This role is 100% onsite due to security constraints
• Clearance and nationality requirements are non-negotiable
