ABOUT USAt Occuity, we are pioneering ground-breaking technological solutions to alleviate some of humanity’s greatest healthcare challenges by developing technology that takes instant health diagnostic information simply by looking in the eye. With our clear vision and values, a world-leading team of experts, 9 international patents and more pending, we are developing a hugely innovative range of products that will improve the lives of millions of people around the world.
Healthcare challenges are there to be solved and at Occuity, we have the vision and the technical ability to succeed. Occuity’s aim is for our portable, non‑contact diagnostic devices to make repetitive, invasive monitoring a thing of the past.
As part of our ambitious growth plans, Occuity is now seeking an experienced Technical Research Fellow to drive innovative research in the field of eye growth, vision, and myopia. Not only will this research enhance our scientific understanding of myopia, but it will also have clinical and commercial applications for development and optimisation of a new generation of transformative diagnostic medical devices and treatment efforts.
Occuity’s devices use novel optical methods to identify signatures of chronic and systemic diseases (e.g. Alzheimer’s disease, Myopia, and Diabetes). The applicant will work with a diverse team of scientists and engineers to help drive testing for a range of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen interest in ocular research to develop their clinical skills and experience.
The role also offers a fascinating opportunity to gain experience across a wide range of Occuity’s pioneering medical devices.
The Technical Fellow will play a central role in delivering the experimental components of a UKRI‑funded research programme. The post-holder will be responsible for developing and programming dynamic visual stimuli, and for leading their application within human‑subjects experiments.
The role involves presenting precisely controlled visual stimuli to human observers and using ophthalmic instrumentation to quantify the effects on biometric measures and retinal imaging metrics. Responsibilities include experimental planning, data acquisition, and rigorous analysis and interpretation of results. They will also ensure that all data acquisition, storage, and analysis are conducted in full compliance with relevant ethical, regulatory, and data‑governance requirements.
The Technical Fellow will contribute to the dissemination of research findings through peer‑reviewed publications and presentations at scientific conferences, while also contributing specialist expertise to a broader portfolio of innovative research projects across the organisation.
