Registered Veterinary Nurse - Small Animal

We’re excited to welcome a Registered Veterinary Nurse to our team at Shinfield Vets. Based in Reading, we are a trusted, well-established practice with over 50 years of experience caring for pets. We are proudly RCVS accredited and hold Silver Cat Friendly Clinic status, reflecting our commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

Our team includes:

• 4 Vets
• 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses
• 3 Student Veterinary Nurses
• 1 dedicated Practice Director

Our Practice Director, Jo, has been with the practice for over 20 years, progressing through a variety of roles before becoming Director. Her experience and hands‑on understanding of the practice allow her to provide exceptional support and leadership to the team.

You’ll rotate through all areas of nursing, including:

• Theatre
• Inpatient care
• Nurse‑led clinics

This is a varied and rewarding position where your skills will be fully utilised. We’ll support you to grow professionally, take on new responsibilities, and contribute ideas to help shape the way we work. Whether your goal is to mentor, lead, or simply continue developing your clinical skills, we’re here to support you.

We’re seeking a proactive and passionate RVN who:

• Enjoys a varied caseload
• Works well as part of a team
• Prioritises high standards of patient care
• Clinical coaching experience is welcomed but not essential.

This is a full‑time position working 40 hours per week split over 4 or 5 days. The role also includes participation in a 1 in 4 Saturday, between 8:00 to 17:00.
