Location:
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Reading.
Contract:
Permanent, Full‑time – 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: £55,690 – £62,682 per annum.
- Lead the cloud engineering function, overseeing the design, implementation, optimisation and maintenance of the Trust’s cloud-based systems.
- Work with the Technical Architect to deliver trustwide IT projects, supporting both clinical and non‑clinical systems.
- Act as the Trust’s Cloud Technical Design Authority, ensuring alignment of projects to the IT architecture roadmap and strategy.
- Architect, build and operate Azure environments, applying software engineering best practices.
- Develop and maintain cloud solutions in line with best practice and legal standards, including DSPT and Cyber Essentials.
- Provide training and coaching to digital colleagues on architecture, software packages, languages and technical approaches.
- Ensure project governance, stakeholder engagement and deliver on business requirements.
Evidence of cloud platform certifications such as AZ900 or AZ104 is required.
Essential Criteria- Certification(s) from multiple cloud platform providers.
- Experience delivering cloud migration, management as SaaS, PaaS and IaaS.
- Execution of Disaster Recovery, High Availability, backup and resilience designs.
- Experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Terraform.
- Hybrid infrastructure knowledge, VMWare and experience in Disaster Recovery and backup.
