One of the UK's largest confectionary companies is looking for a junior lab technician to join their team urgently in reading
PLEASE NOTE:
You must live locally and be immediately available. We are looking for someone that has worked in a kitchen, pub or some type of food environment and has a basic understanding of food safety.
Qualifications:
A levels in a scientific discipline would be preferred.
Responsibilities:
1. Working in different laboratories as demand requires
2. Provide high quality customer service at all times by ensuring effective organisation of assigned workload, integrity of analytical data generated and timely/accurate provision of results.
3. Perform a range of basic routine analysis, product manufacturing and sample preparation under supervision of a senior member of staff.
4. Perform laboratory tasks following specified methodologies, such as Standard Operating Procedures.
5. Use of specified instrumentation and laboratory equipment, including calibration where required.
6. Produce reliable, accurate data and keep accurate records of laboratory work undertaken and results.
7. Follow product formulations and methods considering standard operating procedures and food safety to produce food products at bench scale or manufacturing.
8. Operate basic lab and manufacturing equipment as directed.
9. Be competent in the use of generic and specific software packages required for the role:
Laboratory’s LIMS system, Q-Pulse, etc.
10. Perform admin and housekeeping duties as directed.
