An established and growing firm of Chartered Accountants in Reading, Berkshire is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join its progressive senior leadership team.

This Senior Manager role is ideally suited to a qualified accountant who enjoys the operational and leadership side of a senior role within practice. You will oversee client portfolios, manage workflow and support Team Leaders to ensure high standards of delivery and client service.

The Senior Manager Role - Client Portfolio & Leadership Focus

As a Senior Manager in the Reading office, you will manage a portfolio of complex clients while overseeing delivery and performance across the team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and developing a portfolio of complex client accounts and corporation tax assignments
• Acting as the primary relationship lead for key clients
• Overseeing workflow planning and resource allocation
• Monitoring WIP, billing and portfolio profitability
• Reviewing work to ensure timely delivery and quality standards
• Supporting Team Leaders with operational matters and workload management
• Assisting with recruitment decisions, training and team development
• Driving efficiency, process improvement and best practice across the practice
• Contributing to strategic planning and revenue growth initiatives

This Senior Manager job offers genuine leadership responsibility within a progressive and supportive accountancy practice.

Desired Skills and Experience

This opportunity would suit a Senior Manager with Accountancy Practice experience who enjoys team leadership, client relationship management and operational oversight.

The firm is keen to speak with candidates who have:

• ACA or ACCA qualification (QBE considered with strong practice experience)
• 3+ years PQE within UK Accountancy Practice
• Strong client relationship and communication skills
• Experience managing WIP, billing and portfolio performance
• Confidence leading teams and supporting workflow planning
• A commercially minded and organised approach

CTA or ATT would be advantageous but not essential.

This Senior Manager role is based in an Accountancy Practice in Reading, Berkshire and is easily commutable from Wokingham, Bracknell, Twyford, Henley-on-Thames and surrounding Berkshire areas.
